Human Rights & United Nation / written by Shakir Farooqi

International Human rights Day

Allah Almighty created all human beings with equal rights. There is no discrimination between white or black, Arab or non-Arab, European or African, and between man and woman. The parts with which they eat, drink and walk are made the same. At the time of the creation of humanity: beauty and ugliness and knowledge and ignorance were not taken into consideration. Alas! Some members of our society, for their own benefit, have divided everyone into castes, regions, languages, colors, races and nationalities.  They started depriving each other of their rights by creating division between homeland and region. When one side began to encroach on the rights of the other, inevitably there was a reaction from the other side, which led to fights and quarrels. The result was wars, unrest and prejudice.

At the time of the founding of the United Nations, its founders were concern was to not let a tragedy like World War I or II happen again, so they paid special attention to human rights when drafting it. How much it was implemented is entirely a different matter, however it did explicitly exclude all kinds of rights for the sake of caste, creed, color, race, region, sex and religion.  On December 10, 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the 30-point Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  The member states were then urged to adhere to and abide by this Charter. According to this, mankind was given full freedom of speech and adherence to their beliefs, and the law was declared equal for all.  Even prisoners of war and slaves living in houses were taken into consideration.  Discrimination was stopped on the basis of color, race, caste, creed and language.  Everyone had the right to social, cultural and economic security.  It was also said that every person should acquire economic, social and cultural rights for himself according to the system and resources of his country through national effort and international co-operation.  Similarly, equal education and other rights for men and women were discussed.  All member states signed the charter. Thus, the whole world agreed on the Universal Charter of Rights.

This is one side of the picture.  While the other side is terrible.  Those who talked about, drafted and enforced human rights violated their own charter to such an extent that they lost their minds.  The two-pronged policies and hypocritical practices of these countries have angered other countries. The brave United States and its allies killed millions of people under the pretext of providing rights.  Claiming independence, many countries lost their independence.  As a result, the world sought refuge under the umbrella of the United Nations to find another Messiah.

A few questions arise here as to why these people spread unrest in the name of peace.  What were there goals that could only have been obtained by shedding blood of millions of people?  Who stood in their way?  Etc.  A person who has studied civilization and history is well aware that powerful nations have always tried to oppress the weak.  This power comes from the economy, manpower, technology and religion.  Western nations are now considered the source of power.  After the French Revolution of the eighteenth century, all sources of power turned to these countries.  They excelled in economics and technology (how did they get it? This question is raised again for a while); for manpower they fielded their women. Other countries began to use its manpower to their advantage through greed, lust and bullying.  The only thing left is the matter of religion … So apparently the voice was raised that “Religion is a private matter concerning each indivisual.  Every person has the right to choose whatever he wants.” However, acquaintances know that Western civilization is also a “modern and anonymous religion.”  Even if there being called secular is said a million times, it still will not become true.

Like the five pillars of Islam, modern civilization has four basic pillars: Freedom, Equality, Development, and Human Rights.  Many more good things have been done to enforce them.  Such as democracy, civil society, motivational speakers, secular and liberalism, etc.  Apparently these words are very nice and attractive but their interpretation is not what is done in Muslim or Asian societies.  “Freedom” means freedom from all kinds of limitations and restrictions, which results in unrest in society.  Take the example of blasphemous sketches.  Billions of Muslims are being hurt under the guise of freedom of expression.  Under the guise of “equality”, women are being forced to do things that do not suit their natural creativity.  And under the guise of giving “human rights” they are being completely violated.  In order to enforce them, all those matters which fall under the category of oppression and tyranny are being considered valid.  Countries with thousands of atomic bombs themselves … based on the false news about Iraq, consider it permissible to play brick by brick with the whole country.  The eyes of those who divide East Timor and South Sudan under the guise of religion are closed on Palestine and Kashmir.  There are dozens of such examples.

A question arises here: if freedom, equality, development and human rights are wrong slogans then what are the right slogans instead?  By adopting them, the world can become a cradle of peace and tranquility.  The answer is very simple and old.  Islam has made “servitude” the standard of peace instead of freedom.  The Creator of the universe has set the limits of freedom, so that every servant is neither completely free nor too bound in everything.  Some limits were set for eating, drinking, talking, working, building relationships and even thinking.  It may seem like a blow to human freedom, but the world has become a haven of peace and tranquility.  Instead of “equality”, “justice” was made the standard.  Men and women, old and young alike, their scope was determined by creation and nature.  Then it was forbidden for anyone to step out of his circle and into the circle of another.  If this is done then you have to be responsible after death.  The man and the woman were declared to be the two wheels of the vehicle, but not in such a way that the two wheels were placed on one side of the vehicle, but the two wheels were fixed in their respective positions.  Just as pushing the front wheel of a tractor backwards causes the tractor to become unbalanced, so taking the work of men from women makes the society anxious and unbalanced.

The standard of “progress” and superiority was fixed on piety instead of wealth, capital and prestige.  That is why camel herders were made kings in Islamic history.  (Remember! They did not come to power through bullying but the people elected them themselves.  ۔  The only thing left is “human rights” … so “rights of worship” was made the standard.  Which was emphasized so many times that its importance exceeded the rights of Allah.  Those who brought mountains of goodness were thrown into hell for violating the rights of worshipers.  The blasphemy of the great chiefs was accepted but the abolition of the rights of the worshipers was not accepted in any case.  In the time of Hazrat Umar(RA), the apostasy of Jabala bin Ayham Ghassani was due to the fact that he was asked to account for one slap.

In short, if we want to give peace and tranquility to the planet, we have to come under the umbrella of Islam.  According to “Human Rights”, instead of the 30-member Manifesto, we have to follow the eight-member Manifesto which was presented to the world by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on the occasion of the Farewell Sermon.  Other than that, everything is not more than a mirage. The more you run after it, the farther it will go !!!
